exactly as knoxman...at 12pm today...at work and he said the exacta same thing to me. I told him to send my a written letter tooo. imagine. I knew i would search the number and find i wasnt the only one.

Got a voice message from Daniel Martinez at work. He said I needed to call him the second I got his message. If he didn't hear back from me or my attorney then he wanted to wish me good luck as the situation unfolds on me. So I call the number and give my name to the guy who answers. He says hold on and after a minute or so of an excruciatingly horrible rendition of "Fur Elise" on electronic chimes some guy comes on and announces himself as an attorney. I give him my name and he tells me they wanted to ensure they have the right address to my work so they can deliver court papers to Dave Johnson (my coworker and not his real name). I tell him if he has court papers why would he give them to my coworker if he's talking to me? He tells me he's more than a coworker, he's a reference. I remind him it's against the law for them to reveal any information about a debt to a third party and references are supposed to be used to find someone if they skip. Since I'm calling him he has no need to contact my reference. He says no, we're going to subpoena him for court. I blow that off knowing it's BS and ask him to please send me a validation letter of the debt to which he refuses and says they've emailed me 16 times. I told him it's my right to receive validation in writing within 30 days and email doesn't count. I remind him that there are scammers everywhere and I'm not negotiating anything with him without validation. After that he got pretty pissed off and said I had no right to cop an attitude with him since I'm not a creditor, I'm a debtor. He then rambled off my license number and said an officer of the court would be at my work tomorrow morning and when I showed my ID, I would be arrested. With that I told him to f*** off and hung up. Next time I call I'll make sure it's from work so I can record the call. These people have absolutely no regard for the law. They threaten, make false claims, misrepresent themselves as attorneys, and disclose confidential information to third parties. They're a law suit waiting to happen.

Please advise if this is a legitimate hpone call...i was told i owed $848.38 in outstanding loans which does not seem correct.
